Interview w/ MUBU Bubble Eye

How long have you been doing what you’re doing and how did you get started in the first place?

I’ve been rapping since I was kid…. and I always wanted to do music just got a passion for it.

Who were the first influences on your music and style?

My first influences on my music and style, i would have to say Lil Wayne

Which one of your joints ultimately describes what Bubbs represents musically?

Man Of The Night my new single has to be what represents Bubbs… from the lyrics to the whole concept of the song.

Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

My music is enjoyed for the lyrical content because I’m one of the very few artist from the Chicago Drill scene who actually can rap and have bars… no diss or anything to any Drill artists but most drill artists don’t have bars and lyrical content… I believe I do.

If you could choose to work with some of today’s established artists or producers, to move your game to the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?

I would love to collaborate with any of my all time favorites such as Wayne or Jay Z but I would also love to work with some of the hot young artists that’s blowing up as well as the Atlanta artists… as far as producers… I would love to work with the down south producers because they’re hot and have that sound right now… but I would also wanna work with some of the legends in the game as well.

Which latest songs, videos or mixtapes releases are currently available to your fans and where can they be heard or downloaded?

I have my single “Man Of The Night” out on all streaming platforms ( iTunes, Spotify , tidal, etc.. ) as well as the video on YouTube… I also have several videos on YouTube… i have my previous mixtapes on Spinrilla, Datpiff, Live Mixtapes, My Mixtapez, and other download sites…. I’m currently prepping to release my new EP titled “Backwoods & Hennessy “ which is due to drop in late April….

Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your sound and style the way it is?

I believe my vibe and mood at the time is the most important ingredient to have while making music… in Addition to herbs lol

Which emotion more than any other, currently dominates your music? Joy, sadness, anger or passion etc. , and why?

Passion is the emotion that dominates my music because that’s what I am about my music…. no matter what the situation or the angle of the music being made at the time… I’m passionate about it because music is everything… music is life.

What aspect of the music making process excites you most, and what aspect discourages you the most?

The creating process excites me the most when making music… the actual writing and recording… because as a artist you know when you’ve made a hit or a banger and it excites you to share it to with the world… nothing discourages me when making music because it’s your music that you are making…. whatever you like and whatever you feel… whether someone likes it or accepts it or not as long as you love it… when you love your own craft, it will only make the fan love your craft even more

In closing, tell us something about any projects and ideas you have in store or are already working on?

“Backwoods & Hennessy “ EP on the way coming in late April… be on the look out for that and also be on the look out for a lot of visuals before then…. Go download man of the night and support… Mubu Forever!
